Continuing the look created for FLIFF in 2001 and developed over successive festivals, Tangled Spider Design Group developed their 2005 festival logo. TSDG have been a proud sponsor of the festival and have completed hundreds of visual projects - from merchandise and collateral to advertisements and banners. Ads created for the festival have appeared in publications like Variety and as far afield as the Toronto and Cannes Film Festivals

TSDG designed a tight house style to help brand and organize FLIFF disparate activities into a cohesive whole. Our aim was to brand FLIFF's annual festivals as distinct from the wider Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival organization, which functions as a year-round entity. FLIFF was perceived as being ill-focused and small. Our branding was focused on building a strong and disciplined look that would draw attention internationally and give the festival a considered artistic and intellectual edge.

The fun was in keeping the discipline across publications and materials beyond our immediate control. With such a volunteer-driven project the brand provided the cornerstone of the Festival's national and international profile for five years.

On completion the festival had a strong and corporate look, a long way from the seaside town seashell/starfish imagery we inherited.
